Excellence Begins at BLSYW

Our Principal

Hanley earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Journalism from Morgan State University and a Master of Arts Degree in Education with a concentration in Administration and Supervision from The College of Notre Dame of Maryland. After a stint at WJZ-TV, Ms.Hanley could no longer resist her lifelong passion of serving youth and proudly served as an English instructor for eight years at Walbrook High School. While pursuing school administration, with New Leaders for New Schools, Ms. Hanley served as a Resident

Principal at Digital Harbor High School. Lorna believes BLSYW a divine assignment and a marriage of her two passions; education and the empowerment of young women, “BLSYW is my life’s work, and I consider this new endeavor a tremendous challenge, a great opportunity, and a serious responsibility.” While she was reared and educated in neighboring Prince George's County, Maryland, Lorna has made the Baltimore metropolitan area her home.
